They can always point you in the right direction as far as your diet is concerned.
Supplements that do help
Some supplements have been proven to help however. The idea of supplements is that they are taken along with your healthy diet. You should never skip a meal because you are taking supplements. Doctors also suggest that patients with specific needs such as heart problems should take supplements that have Omega 3’s in them. They suggest these supplements because it is highly unlikely for anyone to get that much Omega 3’s in a daily diet. Supplements like fish oil contain just the right amount of Omega 3’s for a daily serving.
Supplements that are a hoax
There seem to be only a few supplements that doctors do not suggest and see them as a complete hoax. They say this because there is very little evidence that these supplements actually work for people. Supplements for Vitamin A, C, and E have not been shown to help lower blood pressure or to help lower cholesterol. There is one way to lower both of these and that is to change your diet to a much healthier one and get all of the exercise that you can.
Most of the supplements on the market today can actually be a big help with your diet. They will be able to help you get some of the nutrients that you need. Be sure to read all of the labels and check for your daily amount of vitamins. You can compare and contrast what you get versus what you need daily.
